Whoever knew that even a banana plant's bark would morph into such beautiful, rustic products at the hands of tribal women?
These eco-friendly products are made out of banana fiber extracted from the bark. Fiber is manually extracted from the bark, processed, twisted by hand, and made into spindles . The spindles are then hand woven into products, often by blending them with other natural fibers extracted from river grass, and other grasses.
Cotton threads and other natural fibers add a softer, colorful look to these products.
